Barnagar (Madhya Pradesh): Police arrested five persons for selling off land using forged documents. The accused were presented in court, where they were remanded to police custody for three days.
According to police, a complaint was filed at the police station on February 13, 2024 in which applicant stated that Lilabai, resident of Jabaroda Nathu, died in 2003. She owned 1.56 hectares of agricultural land that was sold fraudulently by a woman posing as Lilabai.
During investigation, it was revealed that Ramlal alias Ramsingh Bodana, of Vandi Lodha and his mother Sitabai alias Shaitan forged documents and an Aadhaar card in the name of the deceased Lilabai to claim ownership of 1.56 hectares of agricultural land in Jabarodanath
They executed a fraudulent sale and registered the land on December 27, 2023, at the Registrar's Office in Badnir, Ujjain. Following an investigation, a case was registered against them under multiple sections including 420,467,468,471,120-B,34.
Based on the investigation, Sitabai alias Shaitan Bai, was arrested and presented in court. Additional suspects include Rajvendra Singh, Majhapal Singh, Javiya, Kudash Ali and Laxminarayan, all from Indore.
They were taken into custody and interrogated. Authorities are gathering further evidence against the suspects involved in the fraudulent land registration case.
