Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bhopal Metro train will start running from September, announced Chief Minister Mohan Yadav before the cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Like the Indore Metro inauguration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be invited to flag off the metro service.
To celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21, yoga events will be organised across local bodies, wards and panchayats. The state government aims to create a national record for mass participation in yoga activities.
Tourism in Madhya Pradesh has seen a significant boost, with a 19.6 percent increase this year. A total of 13.41 crore tourists have visited the state, reflecting a strong rebound in the sector.

Nod to 459 new Anganwadi centres
The cabinet has approved a sum of Rs 143.46 crore for construction, establishment and operation of 459 new Anganwadi Bhawans across the state. Out of the total, the Union government will contribute Rs 72.78 crore, while the state’s share will be Rs 70.68 crore.
Push for power projects
The cabinet has sanctioned Rs 5163 crore for ongoing and upcoming capital schemes of the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company. The funding will cover projects scheduled from 2025–26 to 2029–30. The state will bear 20 percent of the cost, and the remaining 80 percent will be arranged through loans from banks and financial institutions.
MSP for moong, urad
To provide relief to farmers, the state government has decided to procure summer moong and urad at Minimum Support Price. Moong will be bought at Rs 8682 per quintal in 36 moong-producing districts, while urad will be procured at Rs 7400 per quintal in 13 urad-producing districts. Farmers can register from June 19 to July 6. The procurement period will run from July 7 to August 6.
CM to attend Central zonal council meeting in Varanasi
The Central Zonal Council meeting is scheduled to take place on June 24 in Varanasi, it will be chaired by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav will attend the meeting, said officials on Tuesday.
According to the established procedure and practice, the zonal council meeting is preceded by a standing committee meeting of the council, in which the agenda items to be placed before the council are scrutinised and prioritised.
The councils also discuss a broad range of issues, including boundary-related disputes, security, infrastructure-related matters such as roads, transport, industries, water and power, matters pertaining to forests and environment, housing, education, food security, tourism and transport etc. The zonal councils, thus, provide a forum for resolving disputes and irritants between the Centre and the states and among the states in a zone.
