Indore (Madhya Pradesh): One person died on spot while another was left critically injured after a speeding bus hit a bike in Madhya Pradesh's Khandwa. After the accident, the bus driver took a U-turn from the fixed route and fled. The villagers chased and stopped the bus and beat up the driver. The police have started investigating the matter.
The incident took place near Kalapath Phata between Gandhawa and Padlya villages in Piplode police station area on Monday morning.
Bike rider, identified as Chaman son of Champalal (32), died on the spot. His friend Saavan, son of Sohanlal, who was riding the bike, was admitted to the district hospital in critical condition. Both are residents of village Padlya.
After the incident, the driver took a U-turn and started running towards Gandhawa. The villagers chased the bus and stopped it in Gandhawa and beat up the driver.

On receiving information about the incident, Piplode police station reached the spot. The driver was taken out of the crowd and sent to Gandhava Health Center for treatment.
According to the police, a case has been registered and the body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem. The matter is being investigated.
