Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh):A 14-year-old boy died on Wednesday after receiving treatment from a quack in Ratlam district.
Deceased named Pappu was of Sankad village under Sarwan police station area. He complained of vomiting and diarrhea on Monday. His family took him to quack Ashok Maida at a private clinic in Sarwan. Maida gave Pappu two injections and medicines before sending him home.
On Tuesday, Pappu's leg swelled badly at the injection site. The swelling spread to the bottom of his leg.
When his condition got worse, the family took him to a private clinic in Sakravada, but doctors there refused to treat him.
On Wednesday morning, the family rushed Pappu to Ratlam for treatment. However, he died on the way to the hospital.
After hearing about the boy's death, Ashok Maida fled the area. Medical officer Dr Deepak Damor said the family brought the body to the hospital on Wednesday morning. Police were told about the incident and body was sent to postmortem.
Sarwan police station's ASI Kashiram Alave confirmed that police have started investigating the case by registering an FIR against quack.
