Khachrod (Madhya Pradesh): Local villagers of Madhya Pradesh's Khachrod district protested an alleged love jihad case and gathered at police station on Saturday.
They demanded action be taken on the matter and the suspects.
The protest follows the disappearance of a 20-year-old Hindu girl from Chapaner village since Thursday. The girl was allegedly lured by a 24-year-old Sadiq Khan, a Muslim, who is father of two children, from Dodiya village.
According to villagers, the girl had been attending college in Khachrod, where Sadiq reportedly manipulated her into eloping. When locals became aware of her disappearance, they searched for her at Sadiq’s house and found it locked. At the same time, the local Maulana was also missing.
A police complaint was filed, and they urged officials to find some leads on the case within 24 hours. However, with no developments, the community gathered in large numbers at the old bus stand and marched to the police station, raising slogans and demanding the demolition of the accused’s house.

SDM Neha Sahu and SDOP Akanksha Baichote addressed the gathering, assuring that legal steps would be taken in the case. Police said the accused abandoned his bike at the railway station and has been changing locations frequently. His last location is discovered to be near Jaipur.
The members submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding strict laws against love jihad and prompt action in the case.
