Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): A 32-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a goods train in Jamunia Kala village on Tuesday night.

The incident took place around 9 pm. The train driver acted swiftly by stopping the train and took the injured Sunil Prajapat to Adkiya Khal station. He was later rushed to the district hospital by an ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.

After post-mortem of the body in the district hospital on Wednesday morning, it was handed over to family members. The family members of the deceased have held his wife and in-laws responsible for his suicide.

They alleged that Sunil had been subjected to mental harassment by his in-laws for several months. His wife had been living at her parental home for the past two months, and when Sunil attempted to bring her back, he was insulted and turned away.

Sunil's brother said that he had been repeatedly pressurised by his wife and in-laws with demands for money, living separately from his family, and purchasing a scooty. Just days before committing suicide, Sunil confided in his brother that he no longer wished to live due to his distress.

Police have initiated an investigation by registering a case and recording statements of family members. Deceased family members demanded strict action against those responsible for Sunil's tragic end.
