Mhow (Madhya Pradesh): A couple traveling from Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai on Mumbai-Agra Highway was robbed and assaulted by thieves who used a knife to threaten them.
The incident occurred on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, around 12:30, near Bharat Petrol Pump and Pavagadh Hotel in Pancharia village.
The couple, Ramkumar and his wife had stopped their car to rest due to sleepiness. The thieves snatched cash and jewellery from the couple after threatening them with a knife. Ramkumar was beaten up by the thieves during the robbery.
Badgoda police were informed about the incident and immediately started searching for the accused. Ramkumar Sahni, from Sant Kabir Nagar district in Uttar Pradesh, reported the incident to the police, stating that he and his wife were on their way to Mumbai when the robbery occurred.
Two bike-borne unknown individuals, totaling four people, stopped the couple and threatened them with knives. The accused held knives to the couple's throats and started beating them, snatching the wife's mangalsutra, earrings, gold ring and Rs 5k in cash. The total value of the stolen jewellery and cash was over Rs 80k.

Badgoda police immediately reached the spot and began investigating the case. The police are searching for the culprits, utilising their informer network and reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area. The accused threatened to kill the couple before fleeing the scene.
