Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): Collector Himanshu Chandra and the health department of Neemuch district received state-level recognition for their outstanding implementation of the 100-day TB-free campaign.
The honour was presented by Governor Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at a ceremony held at Bhopal Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.
The district administration launched the 100-day Nikshay Shivir campaign on December 7, 2024, focusing on screening high-risk individuals, diabetes patients, and TB patients over 60 years old.
Under Chandra's leadership, the team screened 100% of potential TB patients against their target of 134,768 across health institutions, jails, schools, slums and industrial sites.
The campaign resulted in 23,347 X-rays of high-risk individuals, identifying 749 TB patients who received free treatment. Additionally, 332 Nikshay Mitras were recruited and 1,141 food baskets were provided to patients through public donations and CSR funds.

The district also implemented the broader Nirogyaam Neemuch Abhiyan from February 3-23, 2025, addressing multiple health initiatives. Health workers conducted door-to-door surveys of over 150,000 homes, creating 5,279 Ayushman cards for elderly residents, providing prenatal care to 428 pregnant women, vaccinating 663 children and treating 73 children with congenital issues.
"The daily monitoring of the campaign was personally overseen by collector Chandra," said Dr Dinesh Prasad, CMO.
