Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): Another case of bribery was reported in Madhya Pradesh's Barwani district where a computer operator was caught red-handed while accepting ₹35,000.
According to information, Indore Lokayukta team caught Rahul Kumar Gupta, a contractual computer operator at Thikri community health centre in Barwani district, while he was accepting the bribe.
Lokayukta said, he had demanded a bribe from a community health officer Dr Balveer Singh Verma, at Kalapani sub-health centre, to process his pending salary and performance-based incentive amounting to Rs 2.87 lakh.

Irked, Dr Verma filed a complaint with Lokayukta SP Rajesh Sahay.
Acting on the complaint, a team verified the bribe demand. As soon as it was confirmed, a trap was laid, and Gupta was caught during the transaction.
Allegations have also surfaced against block medical officer, Dr Rajveer Tomar, for being complicit in the bribery demand of Rs 50k. Legal action is taken under Sections 7 and 61(2) of the BNS Act, 2023.
Bribe cased surface every month
Just a month ago, on June 29, Sagar Lokayukta police trapped a senior agriculture development officer (SADO) along with a bribe of ₹50k.
Sunil Jain lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta after accused officer Santosh Kumar Jain extorted a bribe of ₹10k from the complainant and demanded an additional amount ₹50k.
