Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Vaishnav Educational and Charitable Trust, one of leading charitable trust of the city, has announced to donate Rs 1 cr. to Ahilya Memorial Trust to help in building of Ahilyabai Memorial.
A decision of this regard was taken in the meeting of the Vaishnav Trust held on Friday. It was decided unanimously to provide this amount for the construction of the memorial as a tribute to Devi Ahilya Bai.
Trust chairman Purushottam Pasari informed that former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan also attended the meeting of the Trust. A presentation of the under construction Ahilya Memorial was also made in the meeting.
All the trustees said that it is a matter of pride that the work of construction of the memorial has started at a cost of Rs 100 cr. to highlight the personality and work of Ahilya Bai. It is necessary to have the participation of all the businessmen, industrialists and general public of the city.
Vaishnav Trust is anyway a leader in helping in religious and charitable works of the city. Secretary Girdhar Gopal Nagar, trustees Kamal Bhuradiya, Radha Kishan Soni, Devendra Muchhal and other were present in the meeting.
