Indore: Rustamji Awards For SP Lokayukta, 3 Other City Cops

101 police personnel in state to be honoured in Param Vishisht, Ati Vishisht and Vishisht categories

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Superintendent of police, Lokayukta Indore unit, Rajesh Sahay is among four police officers from the city who will receive the KF Rustamji Award for the year 2019–2020.

The award is being given for displaying exemplary courage and a high level of professionalism while performing duty, as per an order issued by the Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters on Friday.

The awards will be given in three categories — Param Vishisht, Ati Vishisht and Vishisht. A total of 101 police personnel in the state will be honoured for the years 2019–2020 and 2021–2022.

The Rustamji Awards were instituted in the state in 2013. The awardees are selected based on parameters such as exemplary work in dacoity eradication, anti-Naxal operations and maintaining communal harmony.

City cops to be awarded

In the Param Vishisht category, the then zonal SP of the Special Branch and currently SP Lokayukta Indore, Rajesh Sahay will receive a revolver and a certificate.

-In the Vishisht category, inspector Rashid Ahmed (State Cyber Cell, Indore Unit), officiating sub-inspector Ravi Thakur (Anti-Terrorist Squad, Indore Unit) and constable Gajendra Singh Rathore (State Cyber Cell, Indore Unit) will each receive a cash award of Rs 50,000 and a certificate.
