Indore Updates: Schools To Open At 9 AM From December 12; Health Department Issues Advisory Against ‘Severe Cold’ |

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In view of the severe cold, the opening time for schools up to the 8th standard in Indore district has been changed from 7 am to 9 am. The decision will take effect from Thursday. Officiating Collector Shivam Verma made this announcement on Wednesday afternoon.

The icy winds coming from North India have started freezing Indore as well. The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave warning for the city for the next four days.

On Tuesday, for the first time, both a ‘Cold Wave’ and a ‘Cold Day’ were declared simultaneously. The same conditions persisted on Wednesday, where the temperatures continued to drop steadily during both day and night.

Health Department Issues Advisory Against ‘Severe Cold’

At the same time, the Indore Health Department has issued an advisory on Wednesday for prevention from cold waves after the district started to witness the ‘severe cold’ period.

The advisory focuses on protecting children during the ongoing cold wave. Cold waves can lead to serious health issues, particularly in children, including respiratory problems, infections, and frostbite.

Precautions, Hygiene & Medication

Wearing warm clothes, including caps, scarves, socks, shoes and gloves are a must in the season. Intake of a nutritious diet rich in vitamins will strengthen their immune systems. Warm soups, milk, and seasonal fruits are especially beneficial.

Teach children to wash hands regularly to prevent the spread of infections. Outdoor exposure during early mornings and late evenings must be minimized.

Heating methods can be used indoors but proper ventilation must be ensured to prevent suffocation or accidents.

In case of symptoms of fever, cough, or breathing difficulty, medical help must be sought immediately.
