Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Barely six months after its grand opening, the approach road to Tulsi Nagar bridge is falling apart. Massive potholes have appeared near the bridge, built by IDA to connect Bombay Hospital to Nipania.
Residents allege shortcut construction using loose soil and thin asphalt has turned the stretch into a hazard. “They’ve cheated the public. These potholes will become death pits in the rains,” said local shopkeeper Anjali Dashore.
Deep, dangerous potholes have surfaced at this crucial junction a lifeline connecting Nipania and the Bypass. The daily grind has now turned into a dangerous gamble, with two-wheelers swerving, cars braking abruptly, and pedestrians narrowly escaping disaster, said Sunil Gupta, resident.

Citizens trace city’s royal past in rainy heritage walk
A refreshing drizzle didn’t deter Indore’s history enthusiasts as they gathered for a heritage walk early Sunday morning, eager to explore the city’s royal past. Starting at 7am from the Chhatri of ChimnajiraoAppa Bolia Sarkar, the walk brought together citizens passionate about preserving and learning about the city's historical roots.
The group made its way to Devalalikar Kala Vithika, where historian Zafar Ansari shared fascinating stories about Kala Maharshi DD Devalalikar, who pioneered the art school movement in Indore. The rain added a romantic charm to the experience as participants listened to tales of the city's cultural growth.
The walk continued through Krishnapura, passing by the Banke Bihari Temple, Gopal Temple, and concluded at the historic Rajwada. Along the route, participants were given detailed insights into the Holkar dynasty’s golden era, including the contributions of Rajmata Maharani Krishnabai Saheba, who was instrumental in developing the ghats at Maheshwar.
