Dewas (Madhya Pradesh): Indore (Assembly segment 3) MLA Golu Shukla’s son, Rudraksh Shukla, and four others surrendered at Dewas City Kotwali poice station on Tuesday at around 8.40 pm after they were booked for forcibly entering the famous Mata Tekri temple in Dewas after it had closed.

Cases had been registered against Rudraksh and nine others at the Kotwali police station late on Monday night following statement by the temple priest and CCTV footage showing them entering the temple. The video of the incident had gone viral in the social media.

ASP Jaiveer Singh Bhadoria said they have arrested Aman, Lokesh, Manish, Aniruddha and Rudraksh. Others who were booked included Aman Shukla, Anirudha Singh Pawar, both from Indore, Lokesh Chandwani and Manish Tejwani of Ujjain and Jitu Raghuvangshi, Sachin and Prashant of Dewas.

ASP Bhadoria said the Rudraksha and other had come to the temple in a fleet of SUV and a case of rash driving was registered against them on April 13. The CCTV footage was examined during the investigation, and statements of the complaint and others were recorded, the official said, adding that the police had seized four out of seven vehicles were seized. In-charge ADM Bihari Singh and tehsildar Nidhri Rajput were at the temple till late in the evening.
