Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a strong step toward promoting transparency and accountability, MY Hospital, affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College, has launched a mission to become "Corruption-Free".
As part of the initiative, CCTV cameras will be installed across all hospital departments and offices, and anti-corruption awareness posters will be displayed prominently in every corner of the premises.
This move comes after a formal request made by the nursing association during the recent International Nurses Day celebrations. The association presented their demands to the Dean of MGM Medical College, Dr Sanjay Ghanghoria, urging stricter measures to curb corruption and improve workplace ethics. Following the appeal, the hospital’s executive committee approved the proposal.
In recent years, concerns regarding bribery and unethical practices within the hospital have surfaced. Both patients and staff members had reportedly faced or witnessed incidents of corruption. MY Hospital officials stated that the need for a strong, visible deterrent had become urgent.
“We have received complaints from various sources. These steps, surveillance and awareness, are meant to ensure a safer, more transparent environment for everyone,” said Dr Ghanghoria.
As part of the initiative, posters encouraging patients, attendants and hospital employees to report corruption will be placed in all wards and departments. These posters will also act as a stern warning against any form of unethical behaviour and reflect the hospital’s commitment to clean governance.
Dr Ghanghoria further emphasised the hospital’s stance: “The well-being and satisfaction of our patients and employees must be placed above everything else. Raising the issue is not enough, we must adopt a zero-tolerance policy and ensure that our efforts bring actual change.”
