Indore: Man Bludgeons Son To Death |

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man killed his son with a laundry bat (mogri) to save his wife, after the son allegedly threatened her with a knife during a heated argument over property.

The incident occurred around 4 pm on Tuesday under Aerodrome police station limits, when the deceased, allegedly intoxicated, came home and got into an altercation with his parents.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Ravi alias Goldi Bhavsar (35), a resident of Ambikapuri. His father works as a plastic bag stitcher, while his wife had already left him around one year ago due to his violent behaviour and abuse.

Additional DCP (Zone-1) Alok Kumar Sharma said that Goldi was addicted to intoxicants and frequently created disturbances at home, often abusing and assaulting his family members. On Tuesday, under the influence of alcohol, he began arguing with his parents over transferring property to his name and also demanded to remarry.

The situation escalated when Goldi pointed a knife at his mother. In an attempt to protect her, his father Satish Bhavsar struck him from behind with a mogri, hitting him three to four times on the head, resulting in his death.

His mother immediately called the police. The police reached the spot, examined the scene and detained the father. An investigation is underway and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
