Indore (Madhya Pradesh): City crime branch arrested four men with over 53 grams of MD drugs, police said on Thursday. They were in a car and were trying to deliver the drugs to someone. Drugs and a car all worth Rs 20 lakh were recovered from them and further investigation is on.
DCP (crime) Rajesh Kumar Tripathi informed the media persons that on the instructions given by senior officials, the crime branch team is continuously gathering information about drugs suppliers and taking action against them.
As part of their efforts, the team spotted a car in front of Triveneshwar temple in Patthar Godam Road in which four suspicious persons were seen. The accused started panicking on seeing the police. The crime branch team cordoned off the area and stopped the car.
The accused revealed their names as Ishaan Khan, a resident of Jhalawar in Rajasthan, Shahnawaz of Chhatripura Main Road in the city, Nayab Shah of Labaria Bheru Square and Chitranjan Singh Rathore of Mandsaur district.
In the initial questioning, the accused allegedly informed the crime branch that they are addicts of drugs and intended to supply the MD drugs brought from Rajasthan to in the city. Over 53 grams of MD drugs and a SUV car were seized from their possession. A case has been registered against the accused under section 8/22 of the NDPS Act.
