Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The supply of fly ash, a key material for road and highway construction, is set to resume uninterrupted for the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) projects in and around Indore. The disruption had been slowing down major infrastructure works, particularly flyover construction.
Taking serious note of the issue, water resources minister Tulsiram Silawat convened a high-level meeting on Tuesday with energy minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar and additional chief secretary Neeraj Mandloi. Silawat highlighted how the sudden halt in fly ash supply from the Singaji Thermal Power Project in Mundi village, Khandwa district, had stalled work on key projects.
These include the Tejaji Nagar–Balwada road, Indore–Harda and Arjun Baroda roads, as well as the Jhalaria, MR-10 Junction and Ralamandal flyovers on the Indore–Dewas bypass.
Acting on his request, energy minister Tomar instructed officials to immediately restore the supply and assured that no further obstruction would occur. He also confirmed that necessary guidelines had been issued to ensure continuous supply in the future.
Silawat had also sent a written request to the energy department, emphasizing the importance of timely execution of local infrastructure projects. Indore collector Asheesh Singh echoed the urgency in a separate letter to senior officials.
The decision is expected to boost the pace of construction across multiple NHAI projects in the region and help ensure they are completed within the stipulated deadlines.
