Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Congress leaders, on their way to the Rajwada to submit a memorandum to CM Mohan Yadav, were stopped by the police near Prince Yashwant Square on Tuesday. The police officials allegedly argued with party workers.

Seeking dismissal of Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah and Deputy CM Jagdish Devda over their controversial statements on Operation Sindoor, Congress workers wore masks of PM Modi and the CM, with black ribbons tied around their eyes, as they stood outside the party office in Gandhi Bhawan.

City Congress Committee’s working president Devendra Singh Yadav and Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress’s former president of sports cell Mithun Yadav informed the mediapersons that they had approached the Collector’s office on May 16 for permission to meet the CM over various issues, but their request was turned down.

On Tuesday, Congress members left for Rajwada to give a memorandum to the CM, but they were stopped by the police near the Prince Yashwant Road crossing. Amid this, there was an argument between the police and the workers.

Meanwhile, in its memorandum, the party had sought the arrest of Vijay Shah. It had also demanded the removal of Shah and Deputy CM Devda from the Cabinet. The party also wanted to know why both the PM and the CM were silent on such an ‘insult’ to the Army. “Have they tied a black bandage on their eyes like Dhritarashtra?” it asked.

The Congress also demanded that the problems of the common public be solved.

‘Cabinet meeting at Rajwada waste of money’

Congress state spokesperson Neelabh Shukla said that the state government, which is neck deep in debt, wasted crores of rupees of people’s hard-earned tax money in organising the Cabinet meeting event/picnic in a royal manner at Rajwada, and the result was zero. The BJP government once again showed a rosy picture to the people, he said.
