Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In the ongoing crackdown on drug peddlers under the anti-drug campaign, the crime branch on Thursday arrested a 20-year-old youth with a significant quantity of smack.
The accused, identified as Aditya Namdev alias Adil, a resident of Gaurishankar Complex, BDA Katara Hills, worked as a delivery boy at an e-commerce company and has a criminal background.
Crime branch team under SI Suraj Randhawa recovered 5.84 grams of smack from his possession during a raid near Lal Ground, Nehru Nagar.
The accused confessed that he was waiting to sell drugs to potential buyers. The seized contraband is valued at approximately Rs 1,75,200 in the local market.
Additional DCP Shailendra Singh Chauhan said a case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and he was being questioned further.
Aditya has previously been booked in two criminal cases at Katara Hills Police Station, faces charges of assault, attempt to murder and Arms Act violations, the DCP added.
