Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A divisional review meeting of the Women and Child Development (WCD) department was held recently, where divisional commissioner Deepak Singh directed officers to work with sensitivity, transparency and within set deadlines.

He emphasised that all officers must visit Anganwadi centres in the field to monitor services closely and ensure that the nutrition provided to children is of high quality.

He instructed that Anganwadi workers and assistants should be punctual and attentive to the care of children. The commissioner also reviewed ongoing activities and progress reports of various schemes being implemented across the division.

It was informed during the meeting that 105 children with heart defects were identified in Dhar district under the chief minister’s child heart treatment scheme. Of these, 40 children have successfully undergone surgery in Indore.

Special focus was given to districts like Alirajpur, Burhanpur and Jhabua, where efforts are required to improve the nutritional status of severely malnourished children. Singh directed that a dedicated action plan be prepared, especially for children admitted to nutrition rehabilitation centres.

The meeting was attended by joint commissioner D.S. Randa, regional director Dr Sandhya Vyas, deputy director Sunita Yadav and district programme officers from across the division.
