Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Special Bhasm aarti and other rituals were held at the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain on the third Somwar (Monday) of the holy month of Sawan.

As it is also Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Mahakal was specially decorated in the form of Lord Vinayak. Fruits and sweets were offered as bhog.

The silver gate in the temple hall was opened after sacred chants were whispered into the ear of Veerbhadra. Nandi was bathed, meditated upon, and worshipped.

Lord Mahakal was first bathed with water, followed by "Panchamrit" made of milk, curd, ghee, sugar, honey, and fruit juices. He was then decked up with silver moon, trident, crown, cannabis, sandalwood, dry fruits, and flowers. He wore a silver snake crown, Rudraksha beads, and floral garlands. Fruits and sweets were offered as bhog.

In Khandwa, Lord Omkareshwar was bathed with Narmada water and decorated with rose petals and Bilva leaves. During the morning aarti, dry fruit offerings were made.

In Raisen, Lord Bhojeshwar Mahadev was adorned in Nageshwar form using 5 quintals of flowers, Dhatura, Bilva leaves, and mango leaves.

In Tikamgarh’s Kundeshwar temple, Lord Shiva was decorated with 1.25 kg of cannabis. A grand aarti will be held at 7 PM.

In Sehore, despite heavy rain, devotees arrived at Kubreshwar Mahadev temple for darshan.

Mahakal’s Ladoo in Mahakaleshwar temple

The Mahakaleshwar temple is the first temple in India to receive a Five-Star Hygiene Rating. The ladoos offered here are made with strict cleanliness and high quality.

Every day, around 50–60 quintals of ladoos are prepared. More than 50 workers work up to 10 hours daily to make them. These ladoos are made with pure ghee and sugar.

They are available in 100g, 200g, 500g, and 1kg packs. The ladoos are sold at the rate of ₹400 per kilogram.
