Kolkata: Arrested Youtuber Jyoti Malhotra for espionage for Pakistan had also visited Kolkata and adjoining areas which are densely populated and also places that have major defence establishments.
Sleuths from Haryana police have informed Bengal police the places which were visited by Jyoti during her stay in West Bengal.
According to sources, apart from visiting various places in Kolkata, the arrested Youtuber had also visited Barrackpore and Siliguri.
A senior officer from Special Task Force (SIT) of Kolkata Police mentioned that they are in constant touch with sleuths of other states and also that the detailed investigation is going on.
Several purported videos surfaced where Jyoti was seen taking a train ride from Sealdah railway station. She was seen crossing Park Circus seven points. Besides, she had visited a famous biryani outlet in Barrackpore in the North 24 Parganas. Jyoti also visited Bagdogra airport before flying to Bhutan and also chose to stay in a hotel in Siliguri.
Now, the question arises did she pass on any sensitive information about West Bengal to Pakistan.
Incidentally, Kolkata has the headquarters of the Eastern Command, while several areas of Barrackpore are under the jurisdiction of the state police and the Army. Siliguri in North Bengal is strategically important as there are two IAF stations.
It is also being said that Jyoti had also visited Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri and Konark temple in Bhubaneswar few months ago and one Priyanka Senapati had helped Jyoti.
Vineet Agarwal, a sleuth of Puri mentioned that investigation is going on about the incident.
