Kishanganj (Bihar), May 19: As Bihar prepares for assembly elections later this year, the leaders of the political parties are touring every corner of the state to woo the voters. They are leaving no stones unturned to promote their party's achievements. A bizarre incident came to the fore from one such event where a Congress leader was mistakenly given a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cap and he wore it in front of the crowd. The video of the incident is doing rounds on social media inviting mixed reactions from the internet users.
On Monday, Congress MP from Kishanganj Dr. Mohammad Jawed visited Bettiah as part of his campaign. He held a meeting with Congress workers and asked people to vote for his party. However, the unexpected incident happened at the meet.
At Vyaspur Chowk in the Narkatiaganj assembly area, the Vice President of Bihar Pradesh Mahila Congress Manjubala Pathak welcomed MP Mohammad Jawed with a large group of supporters and several cars. When Jawed came on stage, a Congress woman leader honoured him by placing a shawl and a cap on him. But soon, people noticed that the cap had the BJP’s election symbol, which is a lotus, on it.
As soon as party workers saw the lotus symbol, they quickly removed the cap from the MP’s head. The lotus is the symbol of the BJP, which is the rival of the Congress party.
Everything happened so fast that even Mohammad Jawed didn’t realise what was going on at first. When people started saying that the cap had the lotus symbol, he looked at it and was shocked. Many people are now discussing this incident in political circles. The internet users are claiming that this is a hint that the leader might defect days before the elections.
Mohammad Jawed is also a member of the Bihar Congress election campaign committee. He visited Kedar Ashram in Bettiah and held a meeting with Congress workers. He encouraged them to strengthen the party and promised to actively participate in the upcoming elections.

Before this meeting, Manjubala Pathak gave MP Jawed a grand welcome at Vyaspur Chowk in Narkatiaganj. Jawed had come to attend a program in Sabaiya Devaraj. Manjubala Pathak is actively working to strengthen the party. She also spoke on various issues.
