New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday interrupted Leader Of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during his address in the Lok Sabha. Rahul Gandhi mentioned the Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir's visit to the United States on the invitation of President Donald Trump. Rahul Gandhi aggressively banged the bench and said, "The Prime Minister has not said: how dare Mr Trump invite Mr Munir to his office?"

To this, the Speaker responded, "Mananiya Sadasya, ye Sadan ki sampatti hai, isko mat todo," which roughly translates to, "Honourable Member, this is the property of the House do not damage it."

Responding to which, Gandhi said, "Sorry sir galti ho gayi," which roughly translates to: "I am sorry, i made a mistake."

During the debate on Operation Sindoor he claimed that Indian aircraft were lost during Operation Sindoor because of constraints imposed by the political leadership.

"You went into Pakistan, and you told our pilots not to attack their air defence. It was bound that the aircraft would be downed. You tied the hands of our pilots," he said.

Questions PM Modi On Donald Trump's Claims

Gandhi asked, why the Prime Minister was not calling Donald Trump a liar despite him repeatedly claiming that he had brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

Gandhi started his speech by holding Pakistan accountable for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives.

"A brutal attack (Pahalgam), a heartless attack organised and orchestrated clearly by the Pakistani State. Young people, old people were murdered in cold blood, mercilessly. We have, together - every single person in this House - condemned Pakistan," he said.

Debate On Operation Sindoor

A debate on Operation Sindoor is ongoing in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Parliament has allocated 16 hours in each house to allow a detailed discussion on the operation and its wider national implications.
