On Monday, the state had recorded 41 new cases pushing the total active cases to 372. West Bengal had recorded only one case in the first week of May and 12 more cases were registered by the second week of May.
Doctors are of mind though the mortality rate is still low, but advised people with comorbidities to wear masks and wash hands as it is highly transferable.
Though there is no official advisory from the state’s health department, Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) had set up banners as before instructing people to wash hands and to wear masks as every KMC health unit.
Apart from collecting data on active Malaria and Dengue cases in the city, the health workers are also instructed to collect data on people having COVID symptoms.
