A minor rape victim from Kudhani in Muzaffarpur succumbed to her injuries while undergoing hospital treatment, sending shockwaves across Bihar. The case has intensified after a video emerged showing Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha and Panchayati Raj Minister Kedarnath Prasad Gupta meeting the grieving family.
In the footage, the victim's relatives are seen pleading with folded hands: "Sir, had our daughter received a hospital bed in time, she would be alive today..." At this point, Minister Gupta appears to lose his temper, allegedly pushing the family member while demanding: "Beta, kasam khao toh!" (Son, swear it then!)
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav shared the video on X (formerly Twitter), stating: "A BJP minister pushed the rape victim's family! When relatives questioned institutional negligence and custodial murder during Deputy CM Vijay Sinha's visit, Minister Kedarnath Gupta started shoving them and making them swear oaths."
"This atrocity exposes the Nitish government and BJP ministers' complete insensitivity. Bihar is in anarchy. From ministers to officials, everyone has become heartless," he added.
Deputy CM Sinha has assured the family that the accused won't be spared and stringent action will be taken. The incident has sparked outrage over alleged administrative apathy in handling sexual violence cases.
