Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Anubrata Mondal on Sunday had once again skipped police summons citing health issues.

Mondal’s lawyer said that as advised by the doctor Mondal will have to take bed rest for the next few days.

While leaving SDPO’s office, Mondal’s lawyer said, “We have informed everything to the police. Mondal is a victim of a conspiracy. We have full faith in the judiciary and the administration. We are cooperating with the investigation. Whatever we will have to say we will inform the judiciary.”

The police sources also mentioned that Mondal’s lawyer had also submitted the medical report of Mondal from a Bolpur hospital.

Gagan Sarkar, a local TMC leader and close aide of Mondal told media that the audio clip that went viral, is made using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

“Mondal didn’t make any phone calls. A conspiracy has been hatched against Mondal. The audio clip having derogatory language is manufactured using AI. Even then he had apologized as the party asked him to do so. Maybe, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and even a section of TMC workers are likely behind the conspiracy,” said Sarkar.

Notably, an audio clip went viral where Mondal was heard talking to IC Bolpur Litan Haldar in ‘abusive language and threatening IC’s wife and mother’. After the clip went viral, TMC had asked Mondal to tender an unconditional apology following which Mondal said ‘sorry’ and had also sent a letter to party leader Subrata Bakshi.
