Meerut, August 2: In a horrific incident, a man brutally stabbed his wife to death in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut. The woman was seven-month pregnant when the monster husband mercilessly stabbed her to death. The man called the police himself and informed about the murder.
There are reports that the incident occurred in Amheda village which falls under the Ganganagar Police Station area. The victim has been identified as Sapna (22) was stabbed multiple times by her husband Ravi Shankar.
Murder Over Marital Dispute
As per reports from ASBNewsIndia, Sapna who hails from Jatav Gate in Lisadi Gate had been living with her elder sister Pinky's in-laws in Ahmeda village for the past 20 years. She was married to Ravi Shankar in January this year. However, the couple reportedly faced marital issues soon after the wedding
Sapna had been staying at her sister's house for the past five months due to the ongoing dispute with Ravi Shankar. However, Ravi visited her under the pretext of talking on Saturday morning. He locked the doors of the house before taking her to the first floor, where he repeatedly stabbed her with a sharp knife.
The family members and the neighbours heard the commotion and Sapna's screams, after which they rushed to the spot to help her. However, the door was locked and by the time they managed to break the door and reach her, it was too late.
Accused Surrendered Voluntarily
Ravi Shankar himself called the police after the incident and informed them about the murder. Following the alert, the police reached the spot and arrested Ravi Shankar from the crime scene, which was soaked in blood.
Police Investigation
The police took the dead body of Sapna into their custody and sent it for post-mortem. The police said that the accused is being interrogated and a case has been registered under the charges of murder. Further legal action will be taken after the investigation.
