Panic broke out at the Hazrat Gulzar Shah fair in UP’s Sitapur on Sunday afternoon after a firing incident. According to reports, a group of miscreants, allegedly involved in illegal extortion, opened fire at the fair's secretary, Syed Hussain Qadri, after he resisted their demands.

The incident reportedly took place when four individuals—identified as Abid Ghosi, Salman Ghosi, Arshad, and an unidentified accomplice from Ghosiana Tola—arrived at the fair and demanded money from Qadri. When he opposed them, one of the accused fired a gun in the crowded fair premises, causing chaos and fear among people. Thankfully, Qadri was unharmed and managed to escape the scene.

The firing was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras installed at the fairground, providing crucial evidence. Qadri has since filed a formal complaint with the police, presenting both the footage and a detailed written account of the incident.
