Gonda: A disturbing video has surfaced from Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, showing the family of a deceased man throwing his body onto a road from a moving ambulance on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Hriday Lal.
According to reports, family members allegedly dumped the body on the Gonda–Lucknow highway as a form of protest, aiming to block traffic.
The video shows a man at the rear of the ambulance dragging the body halfway onto the road, as police personnel present at the scene attempt to stop him. Bystanders can also be seen running towards the body, visibly shocked by the act.The family was returning after the post-mortem of the deceased.
Police Reaction
"On 1 August, a fight broke out between a man under the influence of alcohol and the deceased. The situation escalated and turned violent. Hriday Lal was referred to Lucknow for better treatment, where he passed away at around 4:30 a.m. The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the law. While returning after the post-mortem, the family of the deceased, allegedly under the influence of certain individuals, threw the body onto the road from the ambulance in an attempt to block the road as a form of protest," Gonda Police said.
Police further confirmed that the dead body with respect was returned to the family. "Four accused have been arrested and situation is under control" police added.
