Uttar Pradesh News: UP Police To Recruit 3,800 Women Officers, Boosting Women’s Strength To Nearly 55,000

The Uttar Pradesh Police is set to induct around 3,800 more women officers in the upcoming recruitment drive, taking the total number of women in the force close to 55,000. Of these, 2,388 positions are allocated to the newly formed PAC women’s battalions.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police is set to induct around 3,800 more women officers in the upcoming recruitment drive, taking the total number of women in the force close to 55,000. Of these, 2,388 positions are allocated to the newly formed PAC women’s battalions.

The recruitment is part of a broader plan to fill nearly 24,000 police posts. Women will account for 20% of the intake in the civilian police category. A separate proposal includes 106 sub-inspector posts in the women’s battalions.

Currently, approximately 37,000 women serve in the UP Police, mostly in civilian roles. The recruitment board is expected to release the official notification by June 15, with a three-year relaxation in age limit approved by the state cabinet.
