Kanpur: Dr. Uday Nath has been appointed as the new Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Kanpur, transferred from Shravasti. This appointment follows the removal of the previous CMO, Dr. Haridatt Nemi, who had been embroiled in ongoing controversies. The dispute between District Magistrate J.P. Singh and Dr. Haridatt Nemi had escalated to the state government level.

According to highly placed sources, directives were issued for a swift resolution to the conflict. Furthermore, there is consideration for an investigation into an audio recording that raised objections from the DM. If the voice in the recording is confirmed to be that of the former CMO, appropriate action will be taken in accordance with regulations. Dr. Nemi's tenure was marked by continuous disagreements, ultimately leading to his transfer.
