The principal opposition party, Congress has fielded former minister and party working president Bharat Bhushan Ashu, 51; He has been a legislator twice from this seat in 2012 and 2017 and was defeated by AAP’s Gogi in 2022.

The BJP’s nominee is party senior leader Jiwan Gupta, a member of party’s core committee; The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has fielded Parupkar Singh Ghuman, a known lawyer and former president of the Ludhiana Bar Association.
