A madrasa operator named Zubair has been arrested for allegedly raping a female teacher after calling her to the institution on a holiday in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly. The victim’s father has alleged that Zubair lured his daughter under the pretext of office work. There, the young woman was found unconscious. A case has been registered, and the woman has undergone a medical examination.
The incident occurred at a madrasa under the Mīrganj police station area. Zubair, who runs the madrasa, reportedly called the teacher on a day off under false pretences, confined her, and sexually assaulted her. When her condition deteriorated, the accused fled the scene. Mīrganj police arrested him on Sunday evening, and an FIR has been filed under sections of rape and causing hurt.
The victim, who taught at the madrasa, was allegedly called by Zubair on Friday—despite it being a holiday—under the guise of completing urgent administrative tasks. Her father stated that Zubair pressured her to come, leaving her with no choice.
When she failed to return by closing time, her family went to check and found her unconscious and dishevelled inside the madrasa. She was rushed to the district hospital, where she regained consciousness late on Friday night and disclosed the assault. Zubair was arrested on Sunday, and investigations are ongoing.
