Uttar Pradesh: A 28-year-old man was brutally stabbed and shot, allegedly at the behest of his wife and her lover, who also happened to be his cousin in Uttar Pradesh.
As per a report by NDTV, the murder, initially suspected to be a robbery, was later exposed as a calculated betrayal.

Killed En Route to Family Wedding
The victim, identified as Shahnawaz, is a furniture maker from Haryana, who was travelling with his wife Maifreen on a motorbike to attend his brother-in-law’s wedding when he was attacked.
According to the NDTV report, officials said that four unidentified assailants on two motorcycles overtook the couple’s bike, beat Shahnawaz with sticks, and stabbed him multiple times before one of them pulled out a pistol and shot him.
The assailants fled the scene, and Shahnawaz was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Doctors reported deep stab wounds to his chest, neck, and hand. His wife filed a complaint following the incident, which initially appeared to be a robbery. A garland made of cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh and the motorbike were both missing.
However, suspicions grew after police recovered the bike abandoned nearby, leading to a different line of investigation.

Cousin-Lover Behind Murder, Wife on the Run
Police revealed that Shahnawaz’s wife and her alleged lover, Tasavvur, who is also his cousin, plotted the murder together. Investigators said the motive was rooted in Shahnawaz attempting to end their affair, which had become “an obstacle in their relationship.”
“We have arrested two accused and seized the murder weapons from them. We have also accessed the CCTV footage, and the investigation is underway,” a police officer said, as quoted by NDTV.
While Tasavvur and one other accomplice have been arrested, Maifreen remains on the run. Authorities are currently searching for her and the remaining suspects involved in the premeditated killing.
