Bengaluru: A shocking incident has come to light from Karnataka's Bengaluru, a 14-year-old boy committed suicide. Preliminary probe has suggested a possible link to the popular Japanese web series ‘Death Note’.
Probe revealed that the minor was an avid watcher of the series and had drawn a character from the show in his room, according to News 18.
The class 7 student killed himself by hanging himself at his house, tearing off a guitar string on the intervening night of August 3, after which the police launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding his death. The boy has been identified as Gandhar.
On the night of the incident, he had dinner with everyone and slept with his beloved dog Rocky. However, in the morning, he committed suicide in his room
Gandhar's father works as a music artist. His mother Savita, is a folk singer. Savita was in Australia last Friday for a show when the incident occurred.
What Did He Say In The Suicide Note?
In the suicide note, Gandhar wrote, "Mom and Dad, you raised me well for 14 years, I was very happy with you. But today is the time for me to go. By the time you read my letter, I will be in heaven", he wrote in the suicide note .
Police are probing whether the series may have influenced his actions. Gandhar's parents have stated that he was not facing any known difficulties at school or at home, and the exact reasons behind his extreme step is yet to be known.
