Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has rolled out the 'ITI Chalo Abhiyan', a comprehensive campaign to drive admissions in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state for the 2025 academic session. Launched on May 12, this initiative seeks to strengthen the technical skills of both rural and urban youth, making them job-ready in line with flagship national programs like Make in India and Digital India.

Principal Secretary of Vocational Education Dr. Hariom has instructed all District Magistrates to actively implement the campaign, emphasizing its potential to position Uttar Pradesh as a leader in skill development. The government has initiated a multi-pronged awareness drive involving school authorities, Gram Sabha meetings, and block-level sessions to maximize participation. District School Inspectors and Basic Education Officers will promote the initiative in schools, while Block Development Officers will mobilize grassroots support through village heads.

The campaign's progress will be monitored through weekly review meetings chaired by Chief Development Officers. In a significant industry-academia collaboration, 149 government ITIs have partnered with Tata Technologies to offer 11 long-term courses tailored to current industry requirements. The Vocational Education Department has also secured employment opportunities for 27,000 youth through recent memoranda with 22 industrial partners.

This initiative represents the state government's concerted effort to bridge the gap between education and employment, with ITI graduates expected to contribute significantly to Uttar Pradesh's economic growth. The administration has deployed extensive publicity materials across all ITIs to ensure widespread awareness about the program and its benefits.
