Uttar Pradesh's first State Institute of Hotel Management  is on track to open in Gorakhpur within four months, with 85% of construction already completed at the GIDA office site. The '48.39 crore project, initiated on September 26, 2023, has utilized over '35 crore so far in developing academic blocks featuring training kitchens, classrooms, administrative offices, and safety infrastructure.

Deputy Director of Tourism Ravindra Kumar Mishra confirmed the institute will launch diploma and degree programs in hotel and tourism management during the next academic session.

Phase-I construction includes essential facilities like underground parking and fire safety systems. While Phase-II will add separate hostels for boys and girls at an estimated cost of ₹46.81 crore, with tendering currently in progress.

The institute aims to meet the workforce demands of Gorakhpur's expanding hospitality sector, which has attracted multiple national hotel chains in recent years. Officials emphasize the courses will adhere to global standards, creating local employment opportunities aligned with the region's tourism growth.
