Two coaches of the Jansadharan Express travelling from Muzaffarpur Junction to Sabarmati BG Junction in Ahmedabad derailed near Bhaupur station. No casualties occurred as the train was moving at slow speed at the time of the accident. Passengers panicked as the coach wheels came off the tracks with a loud noise. According to reports, several passengers jumped down from the train coaches.

Train number 15269 Sabarmati Jansadharan Express arrived at Central Station on Friday at 3:07 PM, delayed from its scheduled time of 12:50 PM. It departed after the scheduled halt. Whilst travelling on the Delhi-Howrah railway track, just beyond Panki Dham railway station near the outer signal of Bhaupur station at 4:12 PM, the sixth and seventh coaches from the engine became derailed. A major accident was averted as the train was moving at slow speed at that time. An Accident Relief Train is being sent to the site.

The railway administration reported that train number 15269 Muzaffarpur-Sabarmati Jansadharan Express derailed at point number 4 on loop line number 4 in Bhaupur station yard. In this incident, the 6th and 7th coaches from the rear end (guard brake van side) of the train came off the tracks. All passengers and staff of this train are completely safe. Upon receiving the information, senior officials immediately reached the accident site.
Efforts are being made to restore the derailed coaches back onto the track. Meanwhile, train operations continue uninterrupted on the down line.
