A serious incident of violence against Samajwadi Party MP Ramjilal Suman has created significant tension in the Aligarh region. The attack occurred near the Gabhana Toll Plaza in Aligarh, where activists allegedly from Karni Sena and Kshatriya Mahasabha hurled tires at vehicles in Suman's convoy, causing them to collide with each other as a large number of Karni Sena members had gathered at the location.
Following the incident, Suman stated that the police administration stopped him at the toll plaza and described the situation as serious. He further alleged that numerous acts of oppression against Dalits are occurring in Bulandshahr, including cases of rape of Dalit girls and interference with their marriages. He also claimed that statues of Babasaheb Ambedkar are being vandalized.
After the attack, Aligarh police escorted Suman safely to Agra, leaving him at the Hathras border. The incident followed a controversial statement made by Suman in the Rajya Sabha regarding Rana Sanga, which had prompted protests from Karni Sena and other organizations. Prior to this incident, Karni Sena members had vandalized Suman's residence in Agra.
In the aftermath of the attack, Suman expressed concern for his and his family's safety. He wrote letters to the High Court and the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, indicating threats to his life, after which a significant police force was deployed at his residence for protection.
