Kolkata: Amid criticism within Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), former BJP MP and former state president Dilip Ghosh on Thursday slammed party leaders without taking anyone’s name and also asserted that he is responsible for the growth of the saffron camp in West Bengal.
“Don’t teach me RSS or Hindutva. If you cut my veins RSS and Hindutva will ooze out. I didn’t take permission from my party to attend Jagannath temple in Digha. If someone invites me for a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader’s son’s marriage, won’t I attend? I will. Nobody knows about my sacrifices. Those who are commenting against me came to BJP from other political parties after 2021. I am not leaving BJP,” said Ghosh.
Asked about people sarcastically calling him ‘Bhogi’, to which the former BJP MP said that it is not the first time when BJP and Hindus are attacked.
“Those who have married four times and keep several girlfriends are calling me Bhogi? My ethics and I will not change. I have always been in the grassroot and will continue to do so. I don’t meet anyone in secret but in front of the camera. I didn’t touch Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s feet but spoke with her directly,” further added the former BJP state president.

Notably, ‘Go back’ slogan was also given to Ghosh on Thursday after he attended the consecration ceremony of Jagannath temple in Digha on Wednesday.
“During my tenure BJP had 18 MPs and numerous MLAs. I won’t listen to any lecture from anyone who joined the BJP in 2020 or 2021. Why can't the BJP retain the seats now?” questioned Ghosh.
Meanwhile, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh taking to X and said, “Dilip Ghosh’s roar overshadowed the roar of the sea in Digha today. He washed away a section of the BJP.”
