Lucknow: A heartwarming scene unfolded in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Monday, as Aditi Singh, the MLA from Rae Bareli, tied a rakhi on her brother, Prateek Bhushan Singh, the MLA from Gonda. The gesture, which has been a tradition between them for years, was performed for the first time inside the Assembly hall.
Aditi Singh explained that since the weekend fell during Raksha Bandhan and both were in their respective constituencies, they decided to celebrate the festival in the Assembly. Prateek Bhushan Singh, the son of former MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, respectfully touched her feet to seek her blessings.
Speaking to the media, Aditi Singh criticized the opposition for disrupting Assembly proceedings, stating that a functioning democracy requires constructive dialogue.

Prateek Bhushan Singh echoed her sentiments, saying the opposition has no real issues and is avoiding a proper debate. He added that he was fortunate to have the opportunity to celebrate the festival with his sister in the Assembly.
