Chandigarh: Punjab police on Friday claimed to have cracked the case of scribbling pro-Khalistan slogans at three places in Amritsar, which were noticed early Thursday morning, with the arrest of two accused persons including a juvenile.

Sharing the information on X, director general of police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, said that two accused including a minor – both residents of Dargabad village in district Batala, have been apprehended within 24 hours of the crime. One of the accused was identified as Jashanpreet Singh, 32.

Stating that the preliminary investigation revealed they were in contact with foreign-based Shamsher Singh alias Shera Mann, who directed them to carry out the act on the instruction from Gurpatwant Singh Pannu and the accused executed the graffiti after receiving the instructions and designs via Snapchat, but the promised payment was never made, DGP Yadav said and added that further investigation is underway.

It may be recalled that Pannu, a pro-Khalistan terrorist, who heads the banned pro-Khalistan outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) had claimed responsibility for the said slogans at three places – A temple, Khalsa college and the district court complex- in Amritsar.
