CM responsible for murder: Majithia
Meanwhile, tearing into chief minister Bhagwant Mann-led ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) held the CM responsible for the complete failure of the law and order situation in the state.
Senior leader of SAD, Bikram Majithia said it was most shameful that security was being provided to individuals on the basis of political affiliation instead of threat perception.
The SAD leader said it was most tragic that senior Akali Dal leader and Municipal Councillor from Jandiala Guru Harjinder Singh had been shot dead by gangsters as he was not provided security by the government despite being apprised of the heightened threat perception to him. He said Harjinder was being repeatedly threatened by these gangsters and was also attacked by goons recently.
Majithia said had Harjinder been a leader or simple worker of the ruling dispensation, he would have been provided with adequate security. He said that in the present government security cover was only provided to AAP functionaries.
