A nameplate that was supposed to be unveiled by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at a public event in Wayanad fell down from the stage before the ceremony began. The video of the incident quickly spread on social media.

Wayanad (Kerala), June 14: A video is going viral on social media involvong Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The video shows that a nameplate which was supposed to be unveiled by her at a public event in Kerala's Wayanad fell down and broke on stage moments ahead of its revelation. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. Priyanka Gandhi expressed shock over the mishap and the video of her reacting to the incident is going viral.

Priyanka Gandhi was in Wayanad to lay the foundation stone for a new municipal building in Mananthavady at Payyampally. During her visit, Priyanka also made a strong statement about the situation in Gaza. She expressed sadness and concern over the killing of civilians, especially women and children, due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

“It is very wrong on a humanitarian level. I have said this before and I’m saying it again, what is happening in Gaza is unacceptable,” Priyanka said.

She also criticised the Indian government for abstaining from a recent United Nations vote calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. “It is shameful and disappointing that our government chose not to vote for peace and civilian protection,” she said. “Real leadership means standing up for truth, justice and non-violence.”

Priyanka pointed out that over 60,000 people, mostly women and children, have already died in the conflict. She said the world must speak up for humanity and India should reclaim its voice of compassion and justice.

The United Nations General Assembly recently passed a resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. While 149 countries voted in favour, India was one of the 19 that abstained.
