The Border Security Force (BSF) troops shot and injured a Pakistani intruder along the International Border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

BSF personnel detected suspicious activity near the International Border, where a Pakistani national was seen crossing into Indian territory and moving aggressively toward the border fence. Despite repeated warnings from vigilant troops, the individual continued his advance. Perceiving a potential threat, BSF forces responded by firing at his legs to neutralise the danger. The intruder was subsequently apprehended and taken into BSF custody. Indian authorities are lodging a formal protest with their Pakistani counterparts over the incident.

The incident of a Pakistani citizen attempting to infiltrate India has come to light at a time when Pakistan's Army Chief Asim Munir has threatened India from American soil.

At an event organised in Tampa, Florida, Asim Munir said on Sunday that they would destroy Indian dams built on rivers with missiles. He also said that Islamabad has no shortage of missiles. Munir had stated, "We will wait for India to build dams, and when they do so, we will then bring them down with 10 missiles." Munir had also said: "The Indus River is not the Indians' family property. We have no shortage of missiles." He stated that India should not think that only they have rights over the Indus River, because Pakistan also has plenty of missiles.
