Srinagar: Days after the Pahalgam massacre, CCTV footage surfaced online in which tourists could be seen running the market area following the terror attack. The footage from a market downhill of the Baisaran meadow near Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam shows panic-gripped tourists fleeing the area.

According to reports, the footage is from April 22 at around 3:30 pm, almost an hour after the Pahalgam terror attack. In the CCTV footage accessed by NDTV, it could be seen that tourists, including children, were seen running to safe locations in the Pahalgam market area.

CCTV Footage Accessed By NDTV:

On April 22, five to six terrorists opened fire on tourists. A total of 26 people, mostly tourists died in the attack. A local pony guide was also killed by terrorists when he was trying to save tourists.

As per eyewitnesses, terrorists singled out non-muslims and shot them dead. Hours after the attack, Pakisyan-based terrorist organisation, Lashkar-e-Taiba's (LeT's) offshoot The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed responsibility for the attack. However, when tension escalated between India and Pakistan over the Pahalgam massacre, the terror organisation denied its role in the attack.

After the attack, India downgraded its diplomatic relations with Pakistan. New Delhi announced a series of diplomatic sanctions against Islamabad, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and banning trade with the neighbouring country.
