New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday initiated a debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha during the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament. Singh told the Lower House that no important assets of the Indian military were damaged during Operation Sindoor.
While addressing the Lok Sabha, the Defence Minister assured the House members that the armed forces carried out the operation with utmost precision and achieved all the goals.
"I am proud to say that our Air Defence system, Counter-Drone system, and electronic equipment completely foiled this attack by Pakistan," Singh told the House.
"Pakistan could not hit any of our targets, and none of our important assets were damaged. Our security arrangements were impregnable, and every attack was thwarted," he added.
Singh also said that none of the Indian soldiers were harmed in the Operation Sindoor.
"Few members of the Opposition have been asking how many of our aircraft were shot down? I feel their question does not adequately represent our national sentiments. They have not asked us how many enemy aircraft our Armed Forces shot down. If they must ask a question, it should be whether India destroyed terrorist bases, and the answer to that is, yes," the Defence Minister said.
"If you have a question to ask, it should be whether the Operation Sindoor was a success. The answer is yes. Were terror heads destroyed? Yes. If you have a question to ask, ask this: Were any of our brave soldiers harmed in this operation? The answer is, no, none of our soldiers were harmed," he added.
He also said that nine terrorist infra sites in Pakistan were hit in precision strikes in which "over 100 terrorists, their trainers and handlers were targeted."
Detailing the hostilities by Pakistan, the Union Minister said that on May 10, the neighbouring country targeted Indian Air force bases and military establishment through electronic warfare too.
"On 8 May 2025, selected Pakistani air defence system, and sensor network were targeted with precision guided missiles. We were totally focused on self defence, neither was it provocative. Attacks by Pakistan started from 7 May and continued, and on May 10 around 1:30 AM Pakistan used drones, long range missiles and other weapons. They also used electronic warfare technologies, on their target was Indian Air Force's air bases, and military Cantts," the defence minister said.
