New Delhi: The Lok Sabha on Monday, July 28, began a special discussion on ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s military response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, including a Nepali citizen. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh opened the debate, setting the stage for what is expected to be a politically charged exchange in Parliament.

He initiated by saying, "I stand here to present before this House some important facts and aspects related to Operation Sindoor. Honourable Speaker, on the 6th and 7th of May 2025, the Indian Armed Forces carried out a historic military operation under the name Operation Sindoor. This was not just a military operation, it was a demonstration of India’s sovereignty, identity and our unwavering commitment to the citizens of the nation."

"Through this House, I bow down to the brave sons of our nation, the courageous soldiers, who have never hesitated to sacrifice their lives whenever the country needed them to protect our borders. Even today, they are prepared and remain ever vigilant. I also pay my respects to those soldiers who laid down their lives to ensure the unity and integrity of India. On behalf of the entire nation, I extend heartfelt gratitude to all the personnel of our armed forces," he added.
